B.U.I.L.D. stands for Building Up Important Lives and Dreams.

B.U.I.L.D. is a 9-month, career-training program that helps prepare young people for careers. You must be 16-24 to participate. If you haven’t finished high school or aren’t sure what job you want, this could be for you.

If you participate in B.U.I.L.D.:

  • You’ll receive hands-on experience in construction, hospitality, transportation or business.
  • You’ll also learn professional and personal development skills needed to succeed such as handling finances and community responsibility.
  • You’ll hear inspiring stories from others like you who have become successful in their careers despite the obstacles they faced.
  • You’ll receive nationally-recognized, industry certification credentials.

At the end of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to get a job or paid apprenticeship. You can immediately start making livable wages. You may also be able to afford college while working.

There are 3 B.U.I.L.D. programs plus “B.U.I.L.D. Days.”

B.U.I.L.D. Hospitality & Tourism

What You’ll Learn

In this course, you’ll learn innovative ways to work in the hospitality and tourism industry. Hospitality is the second fastest growing career field behind healthcare.

You’ll learn about 4 aspects of the Hospitality and Tourism industry: marketing, technology, operations, and customer engagement.

You’ll explore practices that support customer engagement and improve operations. You’ll compare proven practices with unique solutions. You’ll learn to find creative solutions to whatever issues may arise, so customers get the best experience.

Once you’ve completed the course, we work with our hiring partners to help you get a job or an internship with the goal of you being hired at the end of it. Our biggest partners are Hilton, Hyatt, and Hostelling International. They all need talented entry-level employees.
